I see we have a "Shady Headhunter" thread. So, here is a good headhunter. I last spoke to her two years ago or so. She never got me a job, but was very helpful to me in the process. She knows a lot about the math and computer science of quant/trading. She has good recommendations for books and she was a great coach for those like me who wasted their lives studying pure math and needed to ramp up.

I am somewhat known on the forum and I think people know this is not spam, but if this should be deemed trash, then it will end up there I guess. |

| Didn't she make peter Carr's old website? I chatted with her once, she was nice, but not really on the trading side of things |

Hey omd,
Great idea. I also know a really great HH who found me my current job. She lives in California, but does most of her business with NYC.
I don't really want to send a bunch of spam her way so I won't post her info here, but I'm more than happy to pass it to people I know.

I think there is only one female quant recruiter that lives in CA and does most of her business with NYC...and if you have been in this business for a little while you should know who she is...lol She is also not on the trading side of things -right?
Edit: IAE, shouldn't you be at the beach now? |

Yes, as a matter of fact I have lots of reasons to be celebrating right now. Although I didn't go through a HH this time, I just received a very attractive job offer
Edit: TGIF!!
Have a great weekend! |

It's been two years. By Wall Street standards, that is pretty long isn't it? |

By the way, it seems the identity of my good HH is not so mysterious after all. I didn't realize she is so well known!
It's deserving though. She's pretty awesome. Although she didn't have many opportunities in So Cal, she still met with me and bought me dinner as we discussed career strategies. Don't know too many HH's who would do that. Here's to you Deborah! |

IAE, HHs started to hit me up for your present gig ! lol Having seen your quant programming, Discrete Stoch Fin skills on NP, I think they should look for a reeel weight lifter instead -right? Unless they are willing to payup? Then I can act as a recruiter myself...lol |

Eric, congrats! .
Re: your HH friend, I used to like her too and recommended her to friends several times. A few months ago when I started looking I called her and gave her my updated CV. She said she knew a hiring manager in a big name IB with an open position and she'd submit me there right away.
I'm experienced enough by now so I was working with a few guys at the same time so I was pretty busy. At some point I remembered her and asked about that position. She responded: "Oops, I dropped the ball." I have no more patience for people who drop the ball. I dropped her.

Thanks Energetic dude!
Without knowing the full story, it sounds like you might have been a little quick to judge. She could have given you some BS story about how she submitted, but they weren't interested, etc. I'd rather have someone who made a perfectly understandable mistake who admits to it, than some joker who could care less and will tell you whatever you want to hear. She was probably juggling > 10 candidates at the same time (and for good reason). C'est la vie. Sounds like things worked out though and you've moved beyond having to deal with these jokers
Out of curiosity, does anyone know a good HH for HK? I've written NS, but no response yet *nudge* |

| IAE - Your video has become quite a hit around here...One of my partners has quickly formed a habit of playing it as soon as he gets to the desk, every morning...There could be many worse ways to begin the day... |
