I was thinking about Trump last night and he is still a (political) enigma for me.

It's his method that's so distasteful but I hand it to him he is getting outcomes he said he would that others who tried more traditional tacks didn't. Perennial question: do the ways and means justify the outcome? Very likely not. At least he is cushioned by the US Constitution.

It's all great until it's not - thinking of the man who made the trains run on time and the Austrian fella who got people back in work.

"Yeh, after that blow out I bid the bonds at 76 and you hit man...You're 77/81 now? Cool man...What? Do I care at 80? No mate... I'm 73 bid now...I'm sure you didn't just load up just for me...".

Beeing the neo-marxist technocrat I am and comming from a country (germany) that is disappointed if it doesn't become "exportweltmeister" every year, I am not exactly sure if I think that his protectionism is an extremly bad idea?

But is it because he actually thinks outside of mainstream economics, or just because it serves his "us against them" narrative?

Ich kam hierher und sah dich und deine Leute lächeln, und sagte mir: Maggette, scheiss auf den small talk, lass lieber deine Fäuste sprechen...
