Just to echo Chiral3's recce of Boards of Canada, it's been my soundtrack for the last few months. These three are particularly choice for the video collages:

How about JS Bach? I find his cello pieces to be quite good for when you're watching the computer screen

It actually sounds quite good, much better than the other time-series-to-sound codings I've heard.
