| We don't really delve much into the world of macro-economics, unfortunately. Does any know a place on the web where people discuss these topics in depth, preferably without the usual idiocy (extreme gold bugs, OWS etc)? |
It's buy futures, sell futures, when there is no future! |

Strange, why don't you try trade2win.com - the idiocy there is quite refined...
Personally, I am no longer able to conduct any macro-discussions since my event horizon is now very micro.

Not a board, but solid blog nonetheless. Comment section can get active at times. He's on vacation for a few wks, normally it's a daily posting frequency. |

| I haven't seen a good one yet. How about starting one? Most of the discussion happens on blog commentaries, there is not a single unified place for discussion. |
The crisis takes a much longer time coming than you think, and then it happens much faster than you would have thought, and that’s sort of exactly the Mexican story. It took forever and then it took a night. – Rudi Dornbusch |

How 'bout "Macro freaconomics - Views from 30,000 feet" ? On a more serious note, I would also be interested to hear some reasoning. |

the microstructure noise of macro market banter?
Or how do we make money risk free by just fussing over some slow moving frivolous/frequently revised data with a big standard error. :-)
I think you know the usual places alphaville, macroman etc Jungle posted a link to a blog aggregator which was a good starting point. |

| Or how about renaming Events to Ecönömix? Even the first letter would already be right. EDIT: I meant the NP's Events-thread - it seems to be underutilized at the moment. And Quantie, thx for endorsement. |

Followed this one for a few years, it's now a group-authored affair by (I believe) macro hedgies with a self-deprecating tendency. Mostly original thoughts or opinions, leavened with a healthy dose of dry humour. Commenters are generally knowledgable and well-behaved.

| Mostly market-and view talk on macro-man - hardly any actual macro there. Macroscope is the name for a Reuters macro blog. |
