Has anyone used the BB Python API that wraps Bloomberg's open API? Could someone provide some examples?

I based my implementation of something I found on the web a long time ago. Can't find that, but here are a couple of other ones:

Short: https://github.com/alex314159/blpapiwrapper/blob/master/blpapiwrapper.py

Part of a larger portfolio management project: https://github.com/bpsmith/tia

Thanks billWalker. I somehow did not come across tia in my search.

I have not tried it yet, but I will try on Monday and report back.

I'll send you what I have later tonight. I've had to use the 32 bit version of python on a 64 bit box to get it to work.

EDIT - sent you something, hope it helps rather than hinders...

Thanks Tradenator. I apologize for not responding sooner! I discovered BloomR and decided to use that in the short term.

I have been using the official Python Bloomberg API for a while. I can fetch reference data, I can pull historical data for securities or tickerized portfolios, but I don't know how to pull positions for particular dates yet.

Does anyone know how to pull positions from Bloomberg portfolios? An example would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.
