I was wondering whether anybody had any information (e.g. companies/recruiters/websites) for entry level roles for quantitative researchers (any asset class) in Germany.

My background is in statistics / machine learning and not mathematical finance. I have an MPhil/PhD (UCL and ICL, UK) background in sparse ML (regression, dimensionality reduction), MCMC, and an interest in deep learning, reinforcement learning, generative adversarial networks and natural language processing.

Hi,
I am a bit out of the loop now, but last time I checked "quantitavie research" is not that easy to find.

There are probably some asset managers (I don't know, just guessing) and some commodity traders (like EON Trading or RWE Supply and Trading ...I knw, I worked for some of them) there isn't much to do here on the quantitative side. At least that is my impression.

We don't have an very active hedge fund or prop shop scene. That reduces it to banks, asset managers and commoditiy trading.

Your interests in hip and hot ML topics are all over the place outside of finance though (mostly done by people who have interest in it, but no deeper understanding or experience....think "resume driven development").

If you want to join the gold rushm you should hurry up, the bubble is about to burst....:).

I hear scuttlebutt that a lot of wannabe two-sigmas using the latest woo aren't doing so hot. For example Teza's Berkeley office is now closed.

I have to imagine there is plenty of interesting work to be done with such tools in various German industrial labs if sausage and matjes are a necessary part of your day to day. I was peripherally involved in a bit of cool work trying to predict when Siemens windmills fall apart.
