Does anyone have this now famous and rare video? It is called "The Trader" and it follows PTJ around as he trades and talks about the market. I'm told it is great. I'm interested in seeing it. Thanks.

I saw this at a buddy's house a while ago, and i'll ask if he still has it and if I can get a copy.

Essentially it was a PBS doc on a few traders and the PTJ doc concentrates on him and Pete Borisch (Maybe another way would be to contact PBS for a copy from their archive?).

He explains how they superimposed the 1929 chart on the '87 chart, the debt accumulate/pay cycle they believe in, and shows him trading - shouting orders into a squawk-box.

It really doesn't give any huge insight into his MO but it is quite enjoyable.

Is there anyway someone can upload this on YouTube?
I think some of the other NPers would also appreciate this.

I saw that today too.  I did finally acquire this movie some years ago.  Damn, I thought I was cool there for a minute.  Now all the secrets are out. : )

I still love this movie.  It is very entertaining, to me at least.  Check it out!

I loved this. Finally we get a little peak at the methods of the masters. My favorite one is wearing Bruce Willis' old tennis shoes: NOW we know why all these hedge fund stars go to charity auctions!

Someone had to have downloaded it while it was still up, hopefully it'll reappear.

In the process of getting it now, but looks like it might take awhile!

Sorry for a throwback but the video seems to be going on and off - I recently heard about it and watched on YouTube, then searched through NP and found this thread..

Some very cool details. btw.. some things dont change, he constantly keeps on the phone both Chicago and NYSE :) he was spot on the crash and made a fortune but key strategy was correlation between 1920's and 1980's prices (not returns?! check the chart when they analyze, looks like prices) including elliot waves, etc.. Dunno what to make of it? Some non-stationary ninja moves..

Any additional insights/material about relationships of instruments as he points out how connected everything (fx, bonds, oil, commodities futures) is several times, thats prolly relevant more than ever?

Whats the reason he bought all the rights to the movie and wants to keep it off the viewers?
